About the work

As a final project during their undergraduate tenure at New York’s School of Visual Arts, Guyer and Zeng had the opportunity to design and animate an ambitious package for SVA's 2017 Motion Graphics Portfolio Screening event. The package included an opening sequence, a montage of student work, a closing animation, name title templates for 30 students, an Instagram invitation, end credits, and a series of promotional posters.

A JOURNEY IN MOTION

The standout element in Guyer and Zeng's package is the show opener. Their effort marked the first time the SVA show opener was rendered completely in 3D.

Their goal  was to illustrate a journey, both literally and figuratively. Elements that resonate with SVA's international population are present throughout. Says Guyer, "In the end, we hoped the audience would feel a sense of belonging."
