About the work

Bańkowska created this illustrated and screen printed poster for her animated film "Bug": her graduation project for her animation and illustration studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

A 2016 Adobe Awards winner in the Fine Art – Animation category, Bańkowska's second winning project was completed under the tutelage of her professional mentor, Polish Illustrator Bartosz Kosowski.

The actual screen print is an ambitious seven-color print in a signed, limited edition of 40. It is rendered on 400 gram Munken Pure paper.

Jola Bańkowska is a Polish animation director and illustrator recently graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She is currently focused on animated short films. In every project she takes on, she strives for honesty and to find her own voice. Among her achievements are two Adobe Design Achievement Awards (in 2016 for Fine Art – Animation and in 2017 for Fine Art – Illustration) and a Minister of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship for Outstanding Achievements in 2016.
