Anonymous printed newsletter acts as a feature magazine highlighting anonymous designers. This is to increase the designers' exposure towards a wider audience so as to benefit them in kickstarting their careers.
In a research that I have conducted, students in Malaysia are not in possession of a design magazine of their own, as it is expensive and coupled with the fact that the millennial generations of today are simply not visually attracted to pick up a newspaper to read.
Therefore, for my final year project, I am proposing editorial designs, revolving around the design of printed newsletters, targeting students and young designers between ages of 18 – 25 and the interviews with fresh young talents, students and designers, which would hopefully inspire the students whilst studying.
Anonymous printed newsletter acts as a feature magazine highlighting anonymous designers. This is to increase the designers' exposure towards a wider audience so as to benefit them in kickstarting their careers. Besides, the magazines also functions as a cheaper alternative for aspiring designers or people interested in upcoming and new designs. By using a clean design, the negative space leaves room for the readers to use their imagination and to aptly absorb the information in the magazine, hence maximizing the content's exposure.
Anonymity is defined as impersonality. However, the act of featuring anonymous designers in this magazine creates a stark contrast: anonymity versus individuality. This perfect irony is demonstrated by using pink and blue as the main contrast colours, emphasizing on the idea of dynamism and design consistency with the rest of the design elements. Such contrast not only catches the attention of the audience, but also touches on this magazine's concept.
