Campaign Identity

Student Brief

Objective:

To create a new campaign event and identity for the NYC Department of Education (DOE) with the goal of displaying its commitment to kindergarten through fifth-grade students and their parents with the goal of eliminating inequality in the availability of physical education.

Solution:

The campaign is based on the concept that DOE would hold a series of family sports and physical fitness events in underserved school districts. The design is inspired by the geometric shapes that children first learn in primary school, which also compose the athletic fields and courts they play on. The name "Playbright" was chosen for two reasons. "Play" would present the event as a fun and accessible experience to primary school age children, while "Bright" represented the improved academic and social aptitude and performance of children that are physically active, allowing us to show the value of the event to parents.
