Brief:
To recreate a book cover design using handmade elements.
Concept:
Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night-Time is about how young boy Christopher Boone tries to solve the mystery of who killed their neighbor’s dog. With an autism spectrum condition, Christopher embarks on an investigation disrupting his carefully constructed life.
A black and white theme concept was used to depict how the protagonist understands the world in a literal way, with no gray areas. The dog was created using paper mache painted with white acrylic paint. The hand-drawn elements allude to Christoper’s world of living in rules, patterns and diagrams.
