Veg Pledge is a Design for Good group project created by Sarah Barton,
Mary Shocklee, Adrianne Matthews and Adam Walsh.
Synopsis: You can help save the planet by choosing to omit meat from your
diet one day a week.
Together we came up with a logo that was handmade, friendly, and talked about the environment. Many rounds of linocut vegetables were cut until we reached the final renditions which were applied within the logo and brand design. It was also refined to read at multiple sizes. The leaf on the logo acts as a pledge hand and the rays create an environment around the bean pod. The negative space within the logo is a metaphor for omitting meat from your diet.
We created a poster series to promote our event which was held at the
University of Missouri-St. Louis. We chose to do a poster series to create an environment at the event. The viewer will be brought into the Veg Pledge environment and learn about how the meat and dairy industries effect OUR environment.
We made use of fun, creative puns in order to interest the college age students that would be seeing our posters at our event. We wanted our audience to see that skipping meat one day a week is easy and fun.
Infographics were designed to showcase key information that we wanted our audience to take away as they walked passed. These posters were designed to work cohesively with the other series, giving the option to hang with or hang independently.
Buttons were created with different imagery to act as reminders once our audience took the pledge.
This booklet was used as a take away tool during our event. This allows our audience to remember the importance of the Veg Pledge. The booklet was designed to draw in the viewer in because of the convenient size.
Screen takeovers were set as the background on all the computers in the building on the day of our event and ongoing weeks. This was a tactic to make our brand more known and make our audience visit.
A website for our event was designed for people to take the pledge, learn about our event, find local restaurants and farmer's markets who support vegetarian options, and to find some recipes of delicious vegetarian meals. The website helps people that are interested in taking the pledge, see the resources available to them, and make the Veg Pledge experience less intimidating.
Here are some collected images from the event. Many pledges were made and our audience was excited to learn about new information.
Thank You
