MAKING A KOREAN TYPEFACE 

Typeface project_썬그라스 체

The fonts were inspired by features from sunglass's radius and angle. I use geometric elements to reveal geometric shapes, such as the transformation of a circular element or the adjustment of the shape of an acute angle.​​​​​​​

The initial sketch was designed in such a way as to make a sharp sense of slash. 

In later work, we modified the consonant part to reveal the characteristics of the typeface.

해당 글꼴의 경우 Sunglass의 Radius와 Angle에서 얻은 특징에서 영감을 받아 만들었다. 기하학적 형태를 드러내기 위해 도형적인 요소를 활용했는데 예를 들어 원형요소의 변형이라던지 예각의 형태 부분의 조정이다. ㅅ의 형태과 ㅈ과 ㅊ에서 그러한 서체적인 특징을 적극 살리기 위해 노력했다. 둥근느낌과 각도가 꺾이는 부분의 기하학적인 느낌을 살릴 수 있게 제도스케치를 진행했다. 초기스케치는 사선의 예리한 느낌을 살리는 방향으로 디자인했다. 이후 작업을 진행할 때는 서체의 특징을 드러내기 위해 닿자(자음)부분을 수정했다.

1차작업물의 ㄱ자가 가독성이 떨어진다는 피드백이 있었다. 따라서 가독성을 위해 ㄱ서체의 밑부분의 길이를 줄였고 둥근 형태 추가했다.

단 중간과정에 비해서 글자 끝부분 각도처리가 예리하다.
