Mashama M. Thompson

Mashama is a co-founder and the creative director for 510media, a creative brand studio. Over the past twelve years, operating as the chief brand strategist as well as design lead, Mashama has led creative and strategic teams, in both the physical and digital space across many industries. His work is driven by a simple thesis: communicate a client’s message through the creation of beautifully simple, direct, and bold design.

Shawn Cheris

Director of Experience Design | Adobe Inc.

Shawn a Director of Experience Design at Adobe, where he oversees a variety of teams that define how brand and experience come together in Adobe product experiences.

The Brand & Icons team creates all of Adobe’s brand architecture, logos, icons, and illustrations and handles all in-product expressions of brand. The Spectrum team is responsible for how Adobe’s brand translates into experiences—they create components, patterns, and guidelines that unite all of the company's products and services. Design Lab is a multi-disciplinary team that explores new technologies and platforms to develops future-leaning experiences. And the Community Engagements team brings Adobe Design’s expertise and thought leadership to non-profits, museums, and others to create public-facing work.

Before Adobe, Shawn worked for years as a software engineer before attending California College of the Arts to study Graphic Design. In his spare time, he’s an avid photographer, maker, musician, and cat aficionado.

Sonja Hernandez

Experience Design Manager | Adobe Inc. and California College of the Arts

Sonja has a large range of professional design experience that includes branding, print & online advertising, books & packaging. She is especially passionate about typography and type design. After joining Adobe’s XD Brand team Sonja also lectured in the Graphic Design department at CCA. She loves working with and enabling students and people of all creative levels to create their vision.

When she is not making things on the computer or with her hands, you will often find her running the hills of Berkeley or in search of the best coffee in the Bay area.

Florin Gabor

Design Director & Founding Partner | Dare to be Made (DTBM)

More than 15 years of digital and marketing experience as creative director and art director for several advertising agencies and tv stations in Europe and North America. Clients include: Activision / BBDO / Blizzard / Coca Cola / Cooke Optics / Cirque du Soleil / Mattel / McCann / Microsoft / Panasonic / Ubisoft. With a master degree in philosophy and art, he gained considerable exposure in magazines, books and in exhibitions, with an emphasis on creative direction, art direction, graphic design, motion graphics, web design, photography and cinema.

Johnny Macri

Design Director & Founding Partner | Dare to be Made (DTBM)

Johnny has worked in the design & advertising world for more than 15 years. Taking on the role of Creative Director at Sid Lee (Montréal & Toronto), Tuxedo, Mattel and most recently at Cirque du Soleil as well as Art Director for OrangeTango. Clients include: Baxter of California / Dell / L’Oréal / McGill University / Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal / Musée McCord / Red Bull / Rona / SAQ / SportChek. Forging together his strong leadership, entrepreneurial and design skills allows him to provide clients with an integrative, multi-disciplinary approach, whether it be for branding, strategy, marketing, design or research. Bridging both business and art continues to play an important part in his success.

Elise Granados

Associate Design Director | Odopod

Elise Granados is an Associate Design Director at Odopod in San Francisco. She is a designer at heart and believes in the ability for design to make our digital experiences more human. At Odopod she has lead engagements with top brands such as GoPro, Audemars Piguet, eBay, and Sony. Elise works with companies to establish a brand vision while also solving complex interaction and design problems. She works closely with clients to find a balance between beauty, function, and business goals. As a cultural ambassador at Odopod — Elise is an advocate for creating an environment of innovation and learning within the design group.

Elise received a BFA in Graphic Design from San Jose State University. When she is not in the office Elise is exploring the outdoors through photography and creating personalized artwork.

Theresa Whitehill

Design Director, Writer, Co-founder | Coloredhorse

Colored Horse Studios co-founder Theresa Whitehill has a background (Mills College Book Arts Program) in the study of typography, book arts, and letterpress sets her work apart from designers whose training began with the digital revolution. With over 30 years’ experience in both graphic design and literary arts, her interrelated focus provides consistency and depth to projects ranging from websites and graphic identities to publications and packaging.

Her clients include North Coast Brewing Co. (Scrimshaw, Red Seal Ale, Brother Thelonious, PranQster, et al.), Stags’ Leap Winery, Alice Waters, the San Francisco Center for the Book, Rombauer Vineyards, and the California Tribal TANF.

Jeff Han

Founder, Motion/Graphic Designer | Jeff Han Design

Jeff Han is Emmy award nominee for outstanding main title design in 2016. He is a freelance motion graphic designer based in Los Angeles, California. He works as a lead designer in feature films, broadcasts, gaming and branding. He is also a former winner of ADAA.

Cindy Salans Rosenheim

After graduating from Tufts University with a BA in Art History and French, Cindy spent 2 years as an artist with Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. She subsequently moved to Chicago and worked in illustration studios, including Higgins, Hegner, Genovese; Moonink Phase2, and Jack O'Grady Graphics. She began her own illustration business when she returned to her native San Francisco, where she and her husband -- now comfortable empty nesters -- raised three sons.

Clients include Ancestry.com, Duo Creative for Japanese television, Google and Charles Schwab. American Girl Brands, LLC, Bain & Co. Inc., Center for Urban Education About Sustainable Agriculture, Hasbro Inc., Macmillan Publishing, New York Times, Random House, Stanford University School of Business, Wall Street Journal, Warner Bros.

Mario Wagner

Mario Wagner lives and works as an artist and illustrator in Berkeley, USA.

His work has been published in renowned anthologies, including 3x3 Magazine and Illustration Now! He also contributed work to advertising campaigns for clients such as ABSOLUT VODKA, Cheerios, IKEA and his work regularly appears in publications such as the New York Times Magazine, Wall Street Journal and WIRED Magazine.

His fine art has been shown in numerous exhibitions in Berlin, Los Angeles, San Francisco and London, on art fairs like SCOPE, NADA and Art Basel Miami.

Gaby Brink

Chief Designer and Founder, AIGA Fellow | Tomorrow Partners

Gaby Brink is the President and Chief Designer of San Francisco Bay based design firm Tomorrow Partners. Her passion for human-centered design as a catalyst for positive change in culture, business, and government is the driving force of Tomorrow’s world-view. A hands-on leader, she curates and mentors Tomorrow’s interdisciplinary team, oversees the design process, and builds lasting partnerships with clients. Gaby shares the same vision and spirit with the global design community. An internationally celebrated designer and serial entrepreneur with over 20 years experience, she fosters dialogue and action around the industry’s role in design-driven social change and sustainable growth. Gaby frequently speaks on systems thinking, human-centered design and civic innovation, and produces conferences and convenings around these same topics.
